Job Description Summary of Position
The Research Engineer I supports R&D initiatives by conducting hands‑on experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting in process improvements. This entry‑level role is ideal for candidates with a strong technical foundation who are eager to develop their expertise in PV module manufacturing and testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct experiments as directed and execute experiments with minor oversight.
- Collect and process data, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Utilize Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Operate and maintain lab and factory equipment.
- Support process improvement initiatives within R&D.
- Assist with projects, taking ownership of specific tasks and potentially leading 1–2 minor projects.
- Collaborate with team members under supervision to execute R&D initiatives.
- Learn from senior engineers while mentoring engineering interns.
- Implement existing R&D processes and document work through reports and technical notes.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to follow protocols and work effectively in a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; additional software knowledge is a plus.
- Strong passion for renewable energy and an innovative mindset to envision and explore new possibilities in solar technology.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and contribute to collective research goals.
- Willingness to embrace new ideas, adapt to changing priorities, and thrive in a dynamic R&D setting.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics.
- Hands‑on experience in an R&D or manufacturing environment (internship or academic projects acceptable).
Preferred:
- Familiarity with PV module manufacturing or materials science.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for laboratory or production equipment.
- $80,000 - $105,000 annually
