Position: Family Services Counselor (FSC)  (Skagit and Whatcom)

Job Summary

The FSC focuses on empowering families to solve problems, become self‑sufficient, and strengthen their relationships with various community resources. FSCs provide clinical service delivery, including thorough family assessment, identification of strengths and risk factors, development of family service plans, implementation, and outcome evaluation in collaboration with social workers.

Wage

$22.00–$33.00 DOE (top wage available to candidates with Master’s Degrees who are Licensed only)

Skagit and Whatcom counties

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, social or behavioral science, or a closely related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences or a closely related field and at least two years of paid experience delivering services to families and children.
  • Clear criminal history and successful completion of a background check.
Licensing and Certifications
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (Paid by SA) within 30 days of hire.
  • Current driver’s license, car, and car insurance.
  • TB test within 7 days of the first day of employment (Paid by SA).
  • Licensed, certified, or agency‑affiliated as a counselor in Washington under the Department of Health healthcare professional credentialing guidelines—or the ability to obtain such credentials within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social or behavioral science or a closely related field from an accredited institution plus a minimum of one year of experience working with children and families.
