Job Title: HRIS Business Systems Analyst
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Duration: 10-month contract
We are seeking an experienced HRIS Business Systems Analyst to act as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and IT development teams. This role focuses on analyzing business needs, evaluating technology solutions, and supporting the implementation and enhancement of enterprise systems to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities- Partner with cross-functional business teams and IT developers to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into functional system specifications
- Evaluate new applications and emerging technologies for feasibility, integration, and alignment with business objectives
- Identify gaps in current systems and processes, recommending system enhancements, process improvements, or alternative solutions
- Define detailed system and functional requirements and collaborate with technical teams to validate solution designs
- Support development, testing, and implementation activities throughout the system development lifecycle
- Create clear documentation, reports, and communication materials related to system changes and enhancements
- Present solution recommendations, implementation plans, and expected business impacts to stakeholders
- Work under the guidance of a Project Manager to support project planning, coordination, and timelines
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 3–5+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or similar IT/business roles
- Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile
- Proven experience translating business requirements into functional and technical documentation
- Ability to analyze complex business processes and propose effective technology-driven solutions
- Proficiency in requirements gathering techniques and documentation (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows)
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with enterprise systems, ERP platforms, or SaaS-based applications
- Familiarity with process mapping, prototyping, or visualization tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Figma, Balsamiq)
- Exposure to data analysis, reporting tools, or basic SQL
- Experience supporting testing activities such as UAT, QA coordination, test case creation, and defect tracking
- Relevant certifications (CBAP, CCBA, ECBA, PMI-PBA, Agile/Scrum) are a plus
- Background in regulated industries such as Finance, Healthcare, or the Public Sector is advantageous
