Position Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg at Aurora Medical Center Burlington’s Adult Medical‑Surgical Unit. The unit has 33 beds (23 West, 10 East) and averages 29 patients with a three‑day length of stay. Typical nurse‑to‑patient ratios are 4–5:1 on day shift and 5–6:1 on night shift. The role requires BLS certification (ACLS supported but not mandatory). This fast‑paced, diverse unit offers opportunities for new graduates and experienced nurses alike, with specialties in medical, general surgical, orthopedic, oncology, hospice, and telemetry.
Key Responsibilities- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, ensuring safety and therapeutic outcomes.
- Apply evidence‑based practice, clinical decision‑making, and effective communication to create a safe patient environment and optimal experience.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams in a community hospital setting.
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the candidate practices.
- BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association.
- Full time; 36 hours per week.
- Three 12‑hour night shifts (6:45 pm‑7:15 am) with rotating weekend and holiday requirement.
- Pay range: $38.20 – $57.30 per hour.
- Premium pay for shift, on‑call, and other duties; incentive pay for select positions; opportunity for annual performance increases.
