Job Description
Reporting directly to the General Manager, Chief, or designate, the Executive Assistant works independently performing a wide range of complex and confidential administrative and clerical support duties. This role requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills to function efficiently as a support person for the Chief, Council, and Management of the Wet'suwet'en First Nation. The position requires the ability to work with minimum supervision in an orderly and efficient manner and includes responsibility for executive office management.
The incumbent must demonstrate impeccable judgment, discretion, and an understanding of the Nation's protocols and operational structure.
- Minimum Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
- A post‑secondary Certificate, Diploma, or a minimum of five (5) years of progressive, demonstrated experience in Applied Business Technology, Business Administration and/or Finance.
- Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous organizations.
- High proficiency and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced functions in AI, Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Exemplary judgment and an unwavering ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information.
- A genuine knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of Wet'suwet'en language, culture, history, governance structure, and community protocols.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation for work‑related purposes.
- Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check.
