The City of Burnaby is seeking a dedicated Telephone Operator and Receptionist for a regular full-time position. You'll engage with the public by answering and screening incoming calls while assisting with departmental operations. Key skills for this role include switchboard operation, clerical tasks, and a solid telephone manner.
Key Responsibilities:
• Answer and screen incoming telephone calls accurately
• Connect callers to the correct referrals or take messages
• Maintain office records and reports diligently
• Provide information and assistance to the public
• Type various materials from rough drafts and instructions
Requirements:
• High school graduation with relevant training
• Knowledge of switchboard systems and business English
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Experience performing clerical and typing tasks
• Obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance
This role invites your skills in customer service, clerical work, and multi-tasking to support the City of Burnaby effectively.
