Position Summary
The Education Process Specialist plays a key role in enhancing the efficiency, quality, and overall student and client experience across the organization. In this role, you will analyze, design, and optimize education-related processes, partnering closely with cross‑functional teams, education leaders, and subject matter experts to identify workflow gaps, assess risks, and implement sustainable improvements. Using data-driven insights, root cause analysis, process mapping, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, and PDCA, you will lead the redesign and standardization of workflows to strengthen program delivery, service quality, and operational effectiveness.
You will develop and maintain process maps, standard operating procedures, and supporting documentation, while facilitating workshops, discovery sessions, and collaborative discussions to define future‑state processes, clarify roles and responsibilities, and support informed decision‑making. This position also contributes to system enhancements and automation initiatives through technology governance processes, supports the development of business cases and implementation plans, and helps drive change management efforts through communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.
As a trusted process advisor, you will champion best practices, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and help ensure that new processes are successfully adopted and sustained. In addition, you will contribute to the broader success of the Education Support Services team by aligning work with JIBC’s strategic priorities and embedding principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenization into all aspects of the role.
& Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Operations Management, or related field
- Completion of a relevant business process management and project management certifications, such as Lean or Six Sigma (Black/Lean Bronze or higher), project management (PMP) or other related applicable certifications
- Minimum of 3 years of expereince in workflow analysis, process mapping, business process improvement, operations analysis or related roles.
- Experience working in education process design preferred
- Demonstrated experience with business process management methodologies, such as Lean, TPS, A3, kaizen and Six Sigma
- Skilled in managing multiple projects, adapting to shifting priorities, and applying data-driven decision-making to support business cases and measure impact
- Adept at collaborating across departments to align efforts and drive change adoptio
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, etc.).
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
