About the Role
The Manager, International Strategic Initiatives and Funding, plays a key role in advancing strategic initiatives that support SFU’s global engagement goals. Focused primarily on the development and implementation of priority initiatives within and across regions and thematic areas and funding, the Manager will lead efforts to strengthen international initiatives, pursue and manage funding opportunities, and provide back up support to the regional teams as needed.
The role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective coordination, alignment, and delivery of strategic global engagement and funding activities. This position is well suited for someone with international education experience in a post-secondary setting with strong partnership and project management skills and experience with funding management. Asia experience is preferred.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Communication or a relevant discipline and five years of related experience, including experience in international partnership management and supporting the delivery of partner-driven initiatives in a multi-stakeholder environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage complex strategic initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Strong partnership-building and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse internal and external stakeholder groups.
Proven project management expertise, including planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, and reporting of initiatives and programs.
Experience identifying, pursuing, administering, and reporting on external funding opportunities and grants.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex environments and advance institutional objectives.
Knowledge of international engagement, partnership development, and cross‑cultural collaboration, preferably with experience in Asia and the broader international higher education sector.
