This position works in the Parks – Parks Administration & Systems organizational unit. This is technical and administrative work in the development, implementation and maintenance of the City’s Parks Asset Management Program. The incumbent supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Parks asset management programs, related software systems, operational processes, and workflows to guide the sustainable management of City parks assets, including fixtures, structures, and ancillary equipment;
and coordinates the preparation of parks maintenance capital plan submissions. Also prepares long-term life cycle cost analysis for key parks asset components; analyzes asset, work order, service request, reactive maintenance, preventive maintenance, and related maintenance data; makes recommendations on capital replacement schedules for the purposes of budget planning; prepares contract specifications and related documents; initiates work orders; monitors expenditures; reviews work in progress;
approves or rejects completed work; authorizes payments; and prepares and approves purchase orders within specified limits. Reviews and monitors parks capital and operating maintenance programs; provides input into operating budget requirements for preventive maintenance and repair for all parks assets; and coordinates and schedules minor capital renovation and component replacement works. Develops preventive maintenance and repair programs, conducts asset condition assessments, and schedules and coordinates minor capital works.
Performs related work as required.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Diploma in a related field such as engineering, construction, building or engineering technology, asset management, data analytics, or a related discipline, plus courses related to the work and considerable related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- A Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP) certification is considered an asset.
- Strong data analysis skills, advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools are strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting the use of asset management systems, including asset registry setup, asset data governance, work order workflows, service request triage, customer-facing service portals, or mobile field tools, would be considered an asset.
- A valid Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.
