Job Duties:

– Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
– Develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
– Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
– Guide children the development of healthy eating, proper dressing and toilet habits
– Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
– Maintain an environment to protect health, security and well-being of children
– Co-ordinate and supervise activities of other ECE teachers, ECE assistants and volunteers
– Prepare reports for parents or supervisor regarding potential learning or behavioral problems
– Assist early childhood educators in keeping records
– Establish guidelines for behavior at the team meeting, and discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
– Maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and any community service providers working with children
– Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
– Manage inventory and order supplies and equipment when it requires

Job requirements:

English

Experience:

Experience as an Early Childhood Educator is an asset

Education:

College Certificate or diploma in early childhood education is required
– Certificate:
First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, ECE Certificate
