Summer Camp Recreation Leader

Become a Summer Camp Recreation Leader with the Northeast Burnaby Community Association. Create a fun and engaging camp experience for children while gaining valuable leadership skills.

This role requires you to plan and deliver a 7-week summer program for 70-90 children, providing a lively environment at Stoney Creek Community School. You will work approximately 30 hours a week, with full-time hours during the camp running from June 29 to August 14, 2026. Ideal for students in education, recreation, or childcare, you'll collaborate on important programming and support children's development through various activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement a 7-week summer camp program

• Lead age-appropriate recreational activities and events

• Participate in staff training on behaviour and conflict management

• Assist with registration and administrative tasks

• Supervise children to encourage positive group behaviour

Requirements:

• Enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies

• Experience working with children

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Understanding of child development

• First Aid certification is an asset
