Event Planner Conventions

Position: Event Planner for BCGEU Conventions
Drive success in event planning as an Event Planner at BCGEU in Burnaby. You'll oversee key conventions, manage travel logistics, and ensure budget adherence.

In this role, reporting to the Director of Logistics, you will plan the union's triennial convention and coordinate various other events. Your experience of at least five years in planning large events, along with excellent organizational skills, will help streamline operations and enhance attendee experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead coordination of BCGEU conventions and events

• Negotiate vendor contracts and service agreements

• Prepare and oversee event budgets

• Handle travel logistics for members attending events

• Ensure compliance with internal policies

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of event planning experience

• 4 years in managing event budgets

• Proven negotiation experience with service providers

• Strong organizational capabilities

• Must possess a valid B.C. Driver's license
