Location: New Westminster
Lead innovative New Media Gallery programming as the Director-Curator with New Westminster's Arts Services team. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership, exhibition planning, and community engagement for diverse artistic experiences.
The City of New Westminster is seeking a passionate Director-Curator to oversee the New Media Gallery's operations. Reporting to the Manager of Arts Services, you will manage exhibitions, public programming, and community relations. Utilize your global connections and experience to enhance collaboration between artists, organizations, and the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic leadership and manage gallery operations
• Develop and implement the gallery’s vision and mandate
• Lead exhibition planning, logistics, and artist relations
• Foster partnerships with community and cultural organizations
• Oversee marketing, audience engagement, and grant funding
Requirements:
• Degree in Art History or related field with extensive curatorial experience
• Knowledge of Digital/New Media and contemporary arts
• Proven track record in innovative exhibition and program delivery
• Budget management and administrative systems expertise
• Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills
