Enhance your expertise as a Temporary Events Planner with BCGEU, focusing on organizing significant union events and conferences. Work from our Burnaby office for a 6-month term.
As a Temporary Events Planner, you'll be responsible for planning and executing union events, including conventions and conferences. Collaborate closely with hotels, vendors, and multiple departments to ensure seamless logistics. This role demands excellent organizational skills and a strong understanding of union operations and travel arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organize BCGEU conferences from small meetings to large conventions
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and venues
• Manage budgets for events and conferences
• Coordinate travel arrangements for union members and staff
• Respond to inquiries regarding travel policies and procedures
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years in large event planning
• 4 years managing event budgets
• 4 years in high-volume travel bookings
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Valid B.C. Driver's license and ability to travel
