What
- the Role:

On behalf of our client, Swim Recruiting is seeking a Manager, Financial Analysis, Planning & Reporting who will play a key role on the growing finance team. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance. The new Manager will support financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow analysis, variance analysis, financial system optimization (following a recent ERP implementation), and internal control. The Manager will work closely with another Finance Manager and will cross-train in other areas such as operational and general accounting.

This is a newly created role due to business growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and then execute on FP&A strategies that support and advance the organization’s broader corporate objectives.
  • Produce and present comprehensive monthly financial reporting packages for senior leadership, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and related financial analysis, while coordinating deliverables with the board meeting schedule.
  • Ensure financial results are reported accurately and within required timelines, including the review and reconciliation of intercompany activity.
  • Evaluate financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identify significant variances, and translate findings into concise, practical insights and recommendations for leadership.
  • Coordinate the organization’s annual budgeting cycle in partnership with the Director of Finance and leaders across the various business lines.
  • Manage the growth and performance of the company’s financial reporting and FP&A by providing mentorship, direction, ongoing feedback, training, and consistent communication through regular team meetings.
  • Assist with initiatives related to the new financial system, and update process documentation and procedures.

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking a self-motivated, hard-working, and detail-oriented accounting professional with strong technical accounting knowledge who shows strong potential to step into a people management capacity in future.

  • CPA designation (or International equivalent).
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant and progressive work experience.
  • Excellent financial reporting skills using ASPE.
  • Public practice accounting experience, with a mid-size or multi-national accounting firm, is preferred.
  • Experience using a sophisticated financial systems, ideally an ERP
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead initiatives, improve processes, and support broader organizational goals.

  • Ideally the new Manager will live in the Tri Cities area! Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, or Belcarra, or perhaps a nearby city such as Surrey, Pitt Meadows, Burquitlam, etc.
  • Experience overseeing financial reporting (ASPE) and FP&A
  • Experience working in a complex and project-driven operational environment, ideally in an industrial sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement or strengthen internal controls and reporting processes.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to mentor or guide team members.
