As the People & Culture (P&C) Coordinator, you’ll play an important role in shaping a positive, connected, and supportive Team Member experience, from first impressions during recruitment to celebrating meaningful career milestones.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role for someone who genuinely enjoys being around people, building relationships, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll support a wide range of people-related processes, act as a key point of connection across the organization, and help ensure our Team Members feel informed, supported, and valued every step of the way.
This is a fixed-term, part-time role (24 hours per week, in-office), with the contract running through December, well suited to someone who is organized, responsive, energized by variety, and excited to grow their HR experience while making a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
Support recruitment and onboarding activities by posting jobs, coordinating interviews, initiating background and reference checks, preparing employment agreements, and assisting with new-hire documentation. Help ensure team member records are accurately created and maintained.
Employee Support & Benefits
Respond to day-to-day people-related questions and assist with benefits enrolments, changes, and general inquiries. Escalate questions or concerns to the appropriate team members as needed.
Engagement & Culture
Support employee engagement initiatives by assisting with wellness activities, service awards, and internal communications such as the quarterly Ames newsletter. Actively demonstrate and promote Ames’ core values through daily interactions.
HR Operations & Administration
Maintain employee data in ADP, including personal details, contracts, leave, and training records. Assist with preparing standard reports for auditing, compliance, and workforce tracking. Provide administrative support to the People & Culture team, including document management and coordination with payroll.
Learning & Team Support
Participate in People & Culture projects and initiatives under guidance from the team. Raise questions, follow established processes, and escalate issues to the People & Culture Manager when appropriate. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
