Responsibilities
  • Partner with sales managers to develop and maintain positive employee relations and an engaged workforce, and to implement new and innovative HR solutions.
  • Provide human resource advice and consultation to retail employees and management on all HR-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal laws and regulations relating to employment standards, human rights, privacy legislation, and employment equity.
  • Drive diversity, wellness, people analytics, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Deliver HR training and sharing of best practices.
  • Work closely with the Director of Human Resources on research, development, and management of the performance review process.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Act as a lead in the continuous development, delivery, and success of the focused training, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
  • Perform other related duties.
Your Playground
  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Three to five years of generalist experience in human resources management.
  • Minimum of a post‑secondary diploma in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development, or a related program of study – a Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Specialized training in employment law, organizational development, employee relations, safety, training, leadership, and proactive employment relations is considered an asset.
  • Certification in HR preferred.
  • Knowledge of provincial employment laws and practices on a national level.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • High level of confidentiality and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
