Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Vice‑President, Portfolio and Business Strategies, the Director, Real Estate, Leasing and Portfolio Planning is responsible for providing leadership in capital planning, overseeing the lifecycle of real‑estate assets, and managing real‑estate services including acquisition, development, and divestment of portfolio assets. He/she/they will develop and implement an integrated real‑estate portfolio strategy, partner with branch executives on directly‑managed properties owned by BC Housing and the Provincial Rental Housing Corporation (PRHC), support the AVP in the development and implementation of branch initiatives, and direct the administration functions of the Real Estate and Leasing Team.

Salary Range : $145,634 – $171,334 (Annually; commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity)

Candidate Profile – Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Management, Urban Planning, Business Administration or a related field.

Extensive experience leading major real‑estate portfolios, stakeholder consultation, economic and sustainable development, heritage conservation, and First Nation agreements.

Extensive project development/management experience in a public‑sector organization, with considerable experience in developing economic opportunities.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer.

Candidate Profile – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Extensive knowledge of planning, design, renewal, redevelopment, and construction of multi‑use properties.

Strong understanding of project‑management philosophies, practices, models, and frameworks.

Proficient in real‑estate budgeting, fiscal responsibility, and transparency.

Deep knowledge of social housing and related issues.

Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Outstanding leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Strong facilitation, consensus‑building, conflict‑resolution, and negotiation abilities.

Ability to understand and promote BC Housing’s mandate, programs, and policies.

Capability to plan, design, and deliver complex, multi‑dimensional renewal and redevelopment projects with multiple partners and stakeholders.

Skill in building rapport with senior management, executives, governments, social housing partners, and other stakeholders.

Judgment in presenting issues, providing direction, and influencing action plans.

Ability to coach, motivate, and lead staff in a team environment.
