Job Description and Responsibilities:
The Manager, PMO will be responsible for ensuring best practices, standardization, and strategic alignment across all projects. This individual will play a key role in optimizing project execution, improving efficiency, and driving successful outcomes for complex, high-value engineering and manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading cross-functional teams, implementing project governance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and oversee the Project Management Office (PMO), defining standards, frameworks, and methodologies for project execution.
- Develop and enforce project governance, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and industry best practices.
- Lead a team of project managers and provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Drive program and portfolio management, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and project risks are mitigated.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of projects.
- Monitor project performance using KPIs and dashboards, ensuring timely reporting to executive leadership.
- Implement and optimize project management tools and software to enhance visibility and efficiency.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project execution and delivery.
- Manage stakeholder communications, ensuring alignment between internal teams, clients, and external partners.
- Lead risk management strategies to proactively address challenges in heavily engineered product development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related technical discipline and PMP certification would be a strong asset.
- 7+ years of project management experience, within a heavily engineered product environment (clean tech, industrial manufacturing, energy, aerospace, etc.).
- Strong expertise in PMO setup, project governance, and methodologies (PMP, Agile, or Six Sigma certification is a plus).
- Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary and complex projects in various industries from initiation to completion.
- Expert proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, regulated, and technical environment.
