The Project Manager plays a key role in planning and overseeing Beem’s enterprise projects to achieve our desired outcomes in support of major strategic initiatives. The incumbent will partner with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to support or manage various concurrent projects ensuring all deliverables are met. The Project Manager is an example of effective leadership and collaboration, with an overall aim to support Beem’s aspirations to be the best “digital first and people first” financial institution for British Columbia.

This role is open to hybrid working arrangements within the Lower Mainland or Kelowna region of British Columbia.

What you’ll do:

Project Planning & Execution
  • Manage projects of varying size and complexity through all business phases of the project life cycle.
  • Develop project plans that incorporate elements from both Agile and Waterfall methodologies as appropriate, adapting project management methodologies to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables and ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets; facilitates sprint planning, backlog grooming, and milestone tracking.
  • Update, report and communicate project progress on a regular and timely basis to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and perform quality assurance testing and post-implementation reviews to assess success levels, gather feedback and recommend any related process improvements.
Business Analysis & Team Coordination
  • Apply best practices and recommend process improvements in accordance with established business objectives.
  • Balance the need for flexibility (Agile) with structured planning (Waterfall).
  • Highlight and facilitate actions to uncover and resolve root causes of issues.
  • Utilize critical thinking and analysis to ensure necessary business requirements are in place for timely project completion.
  • Plan in accordance with project budget and monitor budget throughout project cycle.
  • Partner with internal departments to gain an understanding of processes, policies, procedures and requirements for each project, and work closely with cross‑functional teams, including developers, designers, and QA.
  • Research the needs and requirements for each project with internal members and coordinate with third‑party vendors.
  • Partner with the Manager, Enterprise Projects on various phases of projects to maximize project success.
  • Assist and collaborate with other departments in applying the Beem project management standards as required.
  • Proactively collaborate with departments and subject matter experts to resolve anticipated or unexpected issues and ensure the smooth implementation of deliverables.
  • Provide leadership and guidance as necessary to project team members.
  • Coach, mentor and provide informal feedback to other employees as needed on related topics.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages transparency and open communication.
Quality Assurance & Risk Management
  • Provide project documentation including status reports, logs, workflows, schedules, budget, cost and forecasting reports.
  • Balance the iterative nature of Agile with the thoroughness of Waterfall.
  • Oversee quality control processes; ensure all project documentation is sufficiently maintained, compliant and kept up to date.
  • Assess and strategically mitigate potential project risks.
