Rate of Pay: $68,000 - $76,000 per year

Job SummaryThe Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and high‑quality daily operations of the facility. This is a hands‑on, working supervisor role that requires strong technical knowledge of ice and facility operations, the ability to supervise and train staff, and a safety‑first mindset. Reporting to the Operations Manager and/or General Manager, the Operations Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining ice quality, facility condition, staff performance, and overall participant experience.
OperationalResponsibilities
- Perform maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes
- Supervise Ice Maintenance tasks including:
- Engo Operation
- Edger operation
- Ice depth measurement
- Ice chopping/spudding
- Levelling the Ice
- Ice Painting
- Supervise maintenance and repair of facility fixtures and components. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, minor electrical/plumbing/drywall repairs, painting, dasher board system repair, arena glass replacement, hockey / net refurbishing.
- Develop and maintain proficient computer skills in Ameresco Asset Planner
- Ensure that entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear, and safe, including supervision of all 3rd party facility and maintenance contracts such as:
- Landscaping contracts
- Snow removal contracts
- Supervise minor maintenance on facility and ice maintenance equipment including:
- Engo safety check, clean and wax
- Safe blade changes and grease machined as needed
- Change studding, tired, oil and spreader cloth as needed
- Supervise and maintain appropriate checklists, records and reports with respect to utilities, equipment, and facilities services
- Supervise, and monitor the ice plant regularly and take appropriate actions as necessary for safe operation.
- Supervise and perform other duties as assigned
- Completed high school education or equivalent (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Must have a valid Refrigeration Operator certificate (RO) or better
- 1 to 3 years previous experience, training and operation of ice resurfacing equipment
- Previous experience supervising, training, or leading staff
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends)
- Approachable and team oriented with great communication skills
- Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude (preferred)
- Trade or Janitorial experience is an advantage
- Organized, self‑motivated and proactive
