Role Summary
The Service Manager will lead Alta Stream’s Service & Operations functions, ensuring the efficient delivery, support, and lifecycle management of all installed systems, including generators, BESS, microgrids, controls, and hybrid energy platforms.

This is a senior management role responsible for building a high-performing service team, overseeing field operations, driving customer satisfaction, and ensuring operational excellence across all service projects.

The position requires deep technical knowledge, strong people management skills, and the ability to work closely with engineering, projects, and executive leadership to support organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Parts & Service team, including technicians, parts clerks, and support staff.

Oversee all service operations, including installations, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response.

Develop and implement service strategies, processes, SOPs, and quality standards to ensure consistent, safe, and high-quality service delivery.

Ensure optimal lifecycle performance of installed systems—gensets, switch gear, controls, BESS, and microgrid platforms.

Lead technical diagnostics, root cause analysis, and system performance improvement initiatives.

Build strong customer relationships and serve as a senior point of contact for escalations, service planning, and long-term support agreements.

Collaborate with Engineering, Product Development, and Projects to align service requirements with design, commissioning, and R&D activities.

Oversee service scheduling, resource allocation, logistics, and cost management to maintain operational efficiency.

Develop training programs for technicians on safety, technical standards, and new technologies.

Ensure compliance with electrical, mechanical, and safety regulations (CSA, CEC, NEC, OEM requirements, etc.).

Support business development by contributing to service proposals, contracts, and long-term maintenance offerings.

Provide regular operational reports, KPIs, and updates to the executive leadership team.

Education & Experience

Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Power Engineering, or relevant technical discipline.

4+ years of experience in power generation, industrial energy systems, or related service operations.

Proven experience leading service teams or field operations in generators, BESS, microgrids, or industrial electrical systems.

Strong background in gensets, switch gear, controls/SCADA, and distributed energy systems is highly preferred.

Experience developing service processes, safety programs, and operational workflows.

Previous leadership experience required.

Proficient in service management tools, controls/SCADA systems, and OEM diagnostic equipment (asset).

Working Conditions

Based at the Burnaby Head Office with regular travel to customer and project sites.

Combination of office and field environments; PPE required for site work.

On‑call availability may be required to support critical service needs.
