Environmental Director West
Salary Range: $118,500 - $220,000
Job Description Environmental Director – Canada West OverviewReporting to the Canada West Regional Manager, the Environmental Director provides planning, leadership, coordination, and quality performance for the growth, development, and delivery of Environmental Services in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. The role leverages strong industry experience to ensure effective coordination and delivery of environmental scope for complex, multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects in transportation, transit, and mining markets.
Primary Duties- Provide strategic leadership and planning to identify and influence opportunities to grow and expand Parsons’ environmental services in the Canada West Region.
- Coordinate with Environmental Discipline Leads to identify environmental resource needs and acquire resources based on strategic planning and project delivery requirements.
- Obtain value for service and quality assurance from sub‑consultants by securing and managing teaming arrangements and delivery of sub‑consultant work programs.
- Implement a robust Quality Control and Assurance program for all aspects of environmental plans, reports, documents, consultation materials, and approvals, coordinating with discipline leads and technical staff.
- Act as Project Manager or Key Individual on multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, focusing on traditional and APD projects for clients such as Translink, BC Ferries, Alberta Transportation, City of Calgary, Manitoba Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, and City of Regina.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in environmental planning and technical expertise, supporting other regions across Canada.
- Provide strategic direction, senior leadership, and technical advisory on multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, including transportation and transit Environmental Assessments.
- Lead environmental business development pursuits, participating in marketing and business development meetings, and supporting the Canada West Business Development Lead in identifying traditional and APD opportunities.
- Capture and develop infrastructure projects, coordinating environmental professionals and third‑party sub‑consultants for successful capture.
- Identify and foster new client relationships to grow Parsons’ environmental services delivery throughout the West and other Regions, working with the Canadian Environmental Business Line Lead and other Regional Directors.
- Consult with Indigenous communities and public stakeholders on complex projects, providing senior leadership and advisory and leading programs when required across western Canada and other Regions.
- Extensive experience working for or with key Canada West clients such as Translink, BC Ferries, Alberta Transportation, City of Calgary, Manitoba Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, and City of Regina.
- At least 15 years’ experience as an Environmental professional delivering infrastructure projects.
- University degree in science or planning.
