The Program Director, Core Client and Customized Training provides strategic leadership for the delivery of core client and customized training programs in emergency management, fire safety, and exercise design. Working with government, industry, and community partners, this position plays a key role in advancing learning solutions that build capacity, resilience, and preparedness within the public safety sector.

Within the School of Public Safety, the Program Director provides strategic, administrative, and operational leadership for customized and cost-recovery programming while supporting the effective management of school operations, contracts, budgets, and applied research initiatives. The role leads business development, cultivates strong partnerships with the Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness (EMCR) and other provincial, national, and international stakeholders, and identifies opportunities to expand training and service delivery.

Through strategic planning, contract oversight, and operational leadership, the Program Director ensures program areas remain responsive to emerging sector needs while supporting long-term sustainability and organizational success.

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. education, leadership, business, or public administration) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of mid-level experience in educational leadership and administration, including team leadership, program development and delivery, financial management, and project management.
• Demonstrated experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and contract management.
• Knowledge and experience in some aspects of emergency management, emergency and/or fire services delivery, fire protection, or similar fields is an asset.
• Knowledge of curriculum development processes, adult education principles, and multiple content delivery models.
• Knowledge of budgeting processes and contract management principles and practices.
• Experience managing complex service agreements and contracts.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and monitor operating and capital budgets.
• Highly motivated, independent self-starter who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with the ability to apply new knowledge and skills to support the School’s evolving needs.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
