What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Business Development leadership team, the Vice President, Professional Recruitment plays a critical role in delivering Specsavers Canada's growth ambitions.

You’ll lead the strategy, attraction, recruitment and onboarding of Joint Venture Partners while building a strong pipeline of Optometrists, future Partners and emerging optometrist talent. Working closely with leaders across Retail, Property, Professional Marketing and Clinical teams, you’ll develop workforce planning and recruitment strategies that enable new store growth and long-term success.

You’ll also lead our Associate Recruitment team, helping Store Partners attract, engage and retain the talent they need to build thriving businesses.

Key Responsibilities Strategy & Workforce Planning
  • Develop and execute the Professional Recruitment strategy to support business growth across Canada.
  • Oversee key talent development programs, including Graduate, Pathway and Partner-in-Development initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities to strengthen attraction, engagement and retention.
Stakeholder & Industry Engagement
  • Build trusted relationships with Partners, senior leaders and key stakeholders across the business.
  • Collaborate with Retail, Business Development and Property teams to support expansion plans.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with universities, industry associations and external organisations.
  • Represent Specsavers at industry, networking and recruitment events across Canada.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience leading recruitment, talent acquisition or workforce planning teams in a high-growth environment.
  • Alternatively, experience as a senior retail or operational leader with significant responsibility for hiring, talent development and business growth.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Expertise in talent attraction, workforce planning and pipeline development.
  • Experience designing and delivering successful recruitment strategies across multiple channels.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of recruitment technology, assessment methodologies and hiring best practices.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Experience operating across functions within complex, national or international organisations.
