Location: New Westminster
Join Cuso International in Kingston, Jamaica as a Volunteer Advocacy Officer and support LGBTQIA+ rights communication strategies. Your initiatives will enhance advocacy and gender equality.
This volunteer role is designed for Canadian citizens and permanent residents, lasting five months starting August 2026. You will help produce communication materials that spotlight the Building Bricks project's efforts in the Caribbean, enriching the local teams' abilities in messaging and storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement communication strategies for advocacy
• Craft content for various digital formats and platforms
• Build social media presence for effective outreach
• Empower local staff through training in strategic communications
• Foster strategic donor engagement and relationships
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
• Minimum of 3 years in communications or advocacy field
• Strong writing and content development skills
• Skills to simplify complex policies and research
• Training in LGBTQIA+ rights is a bonus
