Your role will include meal service, staff training, and creating nurturing dining experiences.
In this pivotal role, you will take charge of menu planning and the daily operations of the community kitchen, directly impacting individuals and families facing food insecurity. You'll ensure meals are prepared safely and served with hospitality, while also providing volunteers with the guidance needed to be effective in kitchen operations. Building a supportive community atmosphere is key to this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage weekly community meals for over 100 guests
• Maintain food safety and kitchen cleanliness
• Support volunteer training and teamwork during meal service
• Organize food supplies and coordinate donations
• Create a respectful and inclusive space for all
Requirements:
• At least one year of experience in food service or hospitality
• Food Safe Certification and First Aid Training
• Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities
• Valid BC Driver’s license and ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings
