Alpha Kappa Enterprises Limited based in Burnaby, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Kitchen Helper who are self-motivated and have good interpersonal skills. Argo Greek is a Greek counter service restaurant owned and operated by a Greek family. We specialise in authentic Greek cuisine, pizza, and fresh pasta. We provide customised catering menus based on size, dietary needs, and menu options such as vegan, vegetarian, and dairy-free options.

• The candidate would be responsible for washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits
• The candidate will be required to sharpen kitchen knives.
• The candidate would be responsible for removing kitchen garbage and trash regularly.
• The candidate will be required to handle and store cleaning products
• The candidate will be required to clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
• The candidate would be responsible for receiving, unpacking and storing supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
• The candidate would be responsible for sweeping, mopping, washing and polishing floors.
• The candidate would be responsible for preparing dining areas and kitchen for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations.
• The candidate will be required to make sure that the kitchen equipment are well cleaned after use.
• The candidate will be required to pick up and return empty carts and utensils to the kitchen.
• The candidate will be responsible for neatly storing all utensils, cooking tools, dishes, and cutting boards in their designated locations.
• The candidate would be responsible for checking the inventory levels and reporting to the Kitchen Manager.
• The candidate must ensure that there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours.
• The candidate would be responsible for stocking the food items properly in the cold storage
• The candidate will be required toensure that all the vegetables and meats are fresh.
• The candidate would be responsible for emptying the dustbins at the end of the shift.
• The candidate would be responsible for following all food safety and hygiene standards.
• The candidate will be expected to create inventory lists and place ingredient orders.
• The candidate would be in charge of ensuring that the kitchen is kept clean.
• The candidate would be responsible for reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures
• The candidate would be in charge of packaging take-out food
• The candidate would be in charge of wrapping and portioning foods.
• The candidate must properly wash and dry all dishes, utensils, cooking instruments, and cutting boards.
• The candidate will be required to remove dishes and break down trays when indicated to do so.
• The candidate will be responsible for assisting kitchen staff in unloading food supplies from delivery trucks.
• The candidate will be responsible for storing ingredients and food items in accordance with food safety regulations.
• The candidate must ensure that work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate should have minimum qualification of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Previous experience is not mandatory.
