Natural Resource Environmental Specialist

BC Hydro seeks a Natural Resource Environmental Specialist to oversee complex environmental projects effectively. Ensure alignment with ecological standards and regulatory frameworks.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree or a Technologist Diploma along with substantial relevant work experience. This role involves preparing budgets and guidelines while guiding teams through environmental inspections and evaluations. You will also coordinate responses to environmental incidents and mentor junior specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and oversee budgets and contract specifications

• Conduct comprehensive studies on environmental impacts

• Liaise with stakeholders for environmental consistency

• Inspect operations and supervise compliance with protocols

• Mentor and give technical direction to junior specialists

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or Technologist Diploma with relevant experience

• Eight to nine years of practical experience in the field

• Eligible for registration or registered with BC regulatory body

• Must possess a valid class five driver’s licence

• Experience in mentoring roles
