Aquatic Environmental Technician in BC

Location: New Westminster

Join Hatfield as an Aquatic Environmental Technician in North Vancouver/New Westminster, BC. This role focuses on field assessments, electrofishing, and data management in a hybrid work model.

In this position, you will conduct aquatic and fisheries field assessments while collecting and managing environmental data. Your responsibilities will include performing electrofishing and habitat assessments, monitoring water quality, and supporting technical report preparation. You'll travel to project sites across British Columbia and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to uphold Hatfield’s high standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct aquatic and fisheries field assessments across BC

• Perform electrofishing and habitat quality monitoring

• Collect and manage environmental field data accurately

• Prepare and maintain field equipment for assessments

• Support analysis and interpretation of environmental data

Requirements:

• Minimum one year of relevant environmental experience

• Degree or diploma in Environmental Science or Biology

• Experience with fisheries and aquatic assessments

• Knowledge of environmental regulations and protocols

• Valid Canadian driver’s license for three years
