Job DescriptionAECOM's Burnaby, BC office is looking for a Geoscientist to join their growing team of hydro geologists, geologists and geochemists within the Environment Business Line. We are looking for candidates that are enthusiastic, team-oriented professionals with technical capabilities in environmental geoscience. In this role, you will work with our experienced team of geoscientists, environmental scientists and engineers on projects in the mining, water supply, remediation, and waste management sectors in Canada.
This is a Full-time role.
In this exciting role, you will:
Support diverse projects in remediation, mining, civil infrastructure, solid waste and water supply.
Collaborate with a team of hydro geologists, geologists, geochemists, geotechnical engineers and groundwater modellers on projects across Canada and internationally.
Design and implement hydrogeological assessments involving drilling, monitoring well installation, soil and water sampling, aquifer testing, borehole instrumentation and management of contractors.
Compile and manage geoscientific data within a digital database and GIS environment.
Analyze, interpret and prepare reports on geological and hydrogeological data derived from literature review and field investigations.
Develop graphical, two-dimensional and three-dimensional conceptual hydrogeological models.
Evaluate complex and diverse data sets, often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.
Travel as required to conduct field programs and meet project needs.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills.
Minimum Requirements:
B.Sc. or higher degree in earth sciences, geology, hydrogeology or related engineering discipline (geological, environmental, etc.)
Valid unrestricted British Columbia driver’s license.
M.Sc. or higher degree in earth sciences, geology, hydrogeology or related engineering discipline (geological, environmental, etc.)
Eligible to register as a member in training (GIT or EIT) with Professional Geoscientist or Engineer with EGBC.
0-2 years of experience conducting geological, hydrogeological and/or geochemical investigations.
Experience core logging and/or geological mapping in a mineral exploration environment.
Experience with GIS and database software packages such as EQuIS, Open Ground, ac Quire.
A strong understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel software packages.
Experience working at remote sites.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong decision making and communication skills.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $55000 to $70000.
