A global transportation systems organization is seeking a Site Installation Supervisor to support major rail/transit infrastructure projects in the Vancouver area.
About the RoleThis is a 12-month contract role with a strong on-site presence and coordination across multiple active project locations. (potential for contract extension or permanent employment)
Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate on-site installation activities for rail signaling, telecom, and electrical systems.
- Lead daily work planning with subcontractors/installation crews; allocate resources and track progress against schedule.
- Ensure compliance with installation procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations
. - Perform site inspections; resolve technical issues and support field troubleshooting as needed.
- Maintain accurate installation documentation, including progress reports, quality checks, and as-built records
. - Coordinate with engineering, project management, and field stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
- Support test & commissioning activities as required (including occasional field testing support).
- Produce weekly status reports (installation progress, KPI tracking, look-ahead schedules, risks/issues).
- 3+ years experience in rail systems installation OR similar large infrastructure installation environments.
- Experience supervising installation teams and/or subcontractors in an active construction environment.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation (drawings, cable schedules, datasheets, work instructions).
- Strong safety mindset with experience working under strict site safety requirements.
- Strong reporting and coordination skills (schedules, progress updates, status reporting).
- Proficiency in MS Office
; familiarity with project scheduling tools is an asset.
- Rail systems experience (CBTC/train control, signaling, telecom, fiber, electrical systems).
- Experience supporting test & commissioning activities.
- Exposure to KPI dashboards, look-ahead planning, and multi‑site coordination.
- On‑site/field‑based role, Monday–Friday (40 hrs/week); occasional weekend work during critical phases.
- Candidate must be local to Vancouver and able to travel to multiple project sites (local area).
- Role requires completion of site safety orientations and meeting project safety requirements.
