Join the City of New Westminster as an Auxiliary Facilities Technician, maintaining vital building systems in a diverse urban community. Support HVAC, plumbing, and electrical operations while ensuring public facility safety.

In this auxiliary role, you will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and cover operational duties for full-time employees. You’ll engage in essential maintenance and repairs across various municipal facilities, ensuring all systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical are safe and functioning well. You will also coordinate subcontractors and handle limited renovation projects as directed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inspectional and routine maintenance on heating and ventilation systems

• Execute minor plumbing and carpentry repairs as needed

• Conduct painting and drywall maintenance tasks

• Order supplies for maintenance projects and repair works

• Assist with preventative maintenance program implementation

Requirements:

• High School graduation and technical course background

• Experience with HVAC systems maintenance

• Knowledge of building maintenance tools and practices

• Fourth Class Power Engineer Certificate is an asset

• Valid BC Driver's License required
