About this role
We are recruiting for a Project Manager/Estimator, Preventive Maintenance to join our Service Division in Burnaby. Here’s how your role will strengthen our team.
Houle’s preventative maintenance and power quality services team provides routine inspections and repairs to keep our customers’ electrical systems safe, reliable, and efficient. We work directly with clients on a range of projects and service calls, including infrared scanning, electrical distribution maintenance, high-voltage equipment upgrades, UPS and generator servicing, arc flash and power studies, annual operating permits, and electrical planning reports.
Supported by a growing, highly skilled team, you’ll apply your technical expertise, project management, estimating, and customer service skills to ensure project success and build long-term client relationships.
Your responsibilities- Identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, consultants, contractors, and end users
- Review contracts and address unfavorable clauses and conditions
- Take ownership of project financial performance
- Estimate costs, manage changes, and prepare tenders
- Source and purchase materials and equipment
- Collaborate with the Power Quality Manager, Coordinators, and Service Electricians to schedule preventative maintenance and small projects
- Oversee projects and maintain a regular presence on job sites
- Review labour and job status reports for accuracy and adjust as needed
- Arrange completion of project manuals and Power Quality reports
- Ensure deficiencies are resolved promptly by Service Electricians
- Confirm as-built drawings are completed and delivered to customers
- Wrap up projects by reviewing successes and challenges with the foreman and superintendent
- Finalize documentation to ensure accurate billing and project closeout
- Electrical trade certificate, Electrical Engineering degree, or Electrical Technologist diploma
- 1–2 years of experience in electrical project management and/or estimating
- Experience and knowledge of Power Quality or Preventative Maintenance
- Experience with estimating software, especially Accubid Pro and Change Order
- FSR B or A certification
- Basic understanding of arc flash studies, infrared scanning, and vault maintenance
- Familiarity with high voltage work
- Sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Solid computer skills, including MS Office applications
