Be part of the City of New Westminster's maintenance team as a Facilities Maintenance Worker, ensuring efficient operations of city-owned buildings. Handle HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure community safety.

This auxiliary technician position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, covering duties in building maintenance as needed.

Your role includes essential tasks like performing repairs and inspections, conducting routine maintenance on HVAC units, and managing plumbing tasks. Additionally, you will support minor construction and renovation projects, as well as order necessary supplies for maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on building systems

• Troubleshoot HVAC and plumbing issues in municipal facilities

• Assist with minor renovations and repairs as directed

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities

• Carry out monthly safety checks on elevators and fire extinguishers

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12 and relevant technical courses

• Experience in building maintenance operations

• Knowledge of heating, plumbing, and ventilation systems

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

• Ability to pass Police Information Check and possess a valid BC Driver's License
