Education and Experience
Registered Apprenticeship certificate. 1 year to less than 2 years of experience or equivalent.
Responsibilities- Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units.
- Estimate materials, tools and equipment required for projects.
- Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing.
- Construct and install prefabricated masonry units.
- Work at heights on scaffolding or swing stages.
- Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools.
- Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces.
- Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures.
- Supervision experience with bricklayers.
- Cleaning experience with brick and stone building exteriors.
- Physically demanding; handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling.
- Own tools and equipment required.
- Safety equipment: steel-toed safety boots, hard hat.
- Shift or on-call work may be required.
- Early morning shift possibility.
