Job Description

The Industrial Maintenance Millwright will inspect and adjust the mechanical alignment of pumps; replace or rebuild pumps; replace fan bearings; replace motors; repair screw conveyors; rebuild or change gearboxes; install and modify pipelines; and assist in the modification and addition of plant projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect/test, repair/rebuild, adjust, and replace mechanical equipment, including pumps, fans, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, compressors, mechanical grates, cranes and grapples, and all associated mechanical components.
  • Maintain, align, and install various electric motors and execute motor troubleshooting, including identification of issues such as bearing failures, overheating, shaft misalignment, and other mechanical or electrical problems.
  • Maintain and service lubrication systems, including monitoring lubricant application, diagnosing and resolving common lubrication issues such as over‑lubrication, contamination, and lubricant starvation, and conducting routine oil sampling to maximize machine lifespan.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot rotating equipment using laser tools and diagnostic equipment to perform precision alignment and balancing, and monitor wear patterns, thermal expansion, and vibration to prevent breakdowns.
  • Utilize and maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) by accurately logging maintenance tasks, updating work orders, and recording equipment statuses, completing and closing out work orders with thorough documentation.
  • Manage and write detailed work orders, ensuring precise documentation of all repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities, and record corrective actions, parts used, and time allocation.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, confined space entry protocols, hot work permits, field level risk assessments, and hazard communication guidelines.
  • Maximize equipment uptime and reliability through collaboration with other trades and stakeholders, supporting continuous improvement and change initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Millwright Trade Qualification (Interprovincial/Red Seal) and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in an industrial setting such as power generation, chemical, or pulp and paper facilities; additional certifications are an asset.
  • Consistently perform all assigned tasks accurately and on time.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to inspect and diagnose process problems across various unit processes, troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic equipment, and implement corrective action within policy and procedure limits.
  • Demonstrated capability to estimate time and material expenses for assigned projects.
  • Proficient in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Team player, adaptable, eager to take on new or additional duties; highly organized with strong planning and problem‑solving skills.
Work Environment

This is a permanent, full‑time position. The schedule (day or evening shift, Monday through Sunday) will be determined based on operational needs and finalized upon hire. The successful candidate must be available to work various shifts, as the facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
