Certified Fitter Welder

Join FortisBC as a Fitter Welder in Burnaby, BC and contribute to energy infrastructure. This full-time role demands expertise in welding and fabrication of high-quality pressure piping systems.

As a Fitter Welder with a Journeyperson Certificate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability of our gas transmission and distribution systems. With over 5 years of relevant experience, you’ll fabricate and weld pressure piping, interpret engineering drawings, and perform essential field operations. Maintain compliance with safety protocols while working both in the shop and in varied outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate pressure piping and vessel systems using manual arc and gas metal arc welding

• Interpret engineering drawings, fit and weld components

• Perform field welding, including hot taps and leak repairs

• Maintain qualifications in accordance with CSA standards

• Fabricate non-pressure components and install control devices

Requirements:

• Journeyperson Welder Certificate (BC ITA or equivalent)

• 5+ years of experience in welding pressure systems

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence

• Proficient in pipe fitting and general fabrication

• Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
