Job Summary

We are looking for a Relief Full Time Maintenance Worker 5 to join our team at the Burnaby Hospital in Burnaby, B.C.

As an ideal candidate, you bring experience in trades approaching the journeyman level in one or a variety of trades areas such as mechanical and plumbing.

Performs installations, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of assigned mechanical equipment and rolling stock throughout the facility..
Experience:

At least four (4) years' recent field experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Detailed Overview

Performs trades duties approaching the journeyman level in one or a variety of trades areas such as mechanical and plumbing; performs installations, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of assigned mechanical equipment and rolling stock throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

Performs mechanical repairs to equipment such as washers, dryers, floor scrubbers, tow mobiles, pallet jacks, dishwashers, conveyors, garberaters and a variety of hospital rolling stock.

Installs plumbing fixtures and systems such as taps, sinks, and toilets by extending and /or changing water supply and waste lines and fitting pipes.

Installs, repairs and replaces doors and associated hardware such as door closures, locks, and door hardware.

Maintains an inventory of supplies, equipment and tools; completes related reports and records; recommends purchase of related supplies and equipment.

Clears snow and salts sidewalks, walkways and grounds as required.

Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Grade 10, plus four (4) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate effectivley both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
