Scarlet Security & Risk Group (SSRG) is hiring a Security Systems Estimator to develop accurate, competitive, and technically compliant estimates for integrated security and low-voltage projects.
This role requires practical knowledge of system design, installation, programming, commissioning, and lifecycle support. The successful candidate will understand how security systems work, not just how to price them.

- Review drawings, specifications, RFPs, addenda, contracts, and site conditions.
- Prepare estimates, budgets, quotations, tenders, and change‑order pricing.
- Design access control, CCTV, intrusion, intercom, and integrated security solutions.
- Complete takeoffs, labour calculations, bills of materials, and equipment selections.
- Account for cabling, power, networking, software, licensing, integrations, and commissioning.
- Prepare system architectures, scopes, clarifications, assumptions, and exclusions.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- Identify technical gaps, commercial risks, and value‑engineering opportunities.
- Attend site reviews and pre‑bid meetings when required, and coordinate site visits and bid activities as needed.
- Complete clear handovers to project managers, technicians, and procurement teams.
- Review completed projects to improve estimating accuracy.
- 3+ years of experience in security‑system estimating, design, installation, or project delivery.
- Experience with Avigilon, Keyscan, AMAG, ICT, Gallagher, Kantech, Milestone, Hanwha Vision, DSC, and Bosch systems is preferred. Experience with other platforms will also be considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, intercom systems, low‑voltage infrastructure, and IT networking.
- This role requires practical knowledge of system design, installation, programming, commissioning, and lifecycle support.
- Ability to interpret architectural, electrical, communications, and security drawings.
- Experience preparing tenders, technical proposals, and detailed quotations.
- Working knowledge of labour requirements, construction sequencing, and commissioning.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating tools.
- Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Visio, or Procore is an asset.
- Relevant technical education, trade qualifications, and manufacturer certifications are assets.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Work may be indoors or outdoors, including construction environments
- This role may require occasional travel and moderate noise levels
- $65,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience
