Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Burnsville, Minnesota. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate payroll processing and maintaining employee records. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payable or payroll, with a strong focus on organizational and communication skills, particularly in the construction sector.

Responsibilities:

- Process invoices accurately by verifying alignment with purchase orders, subcontracts, and customer accounts.

- Route and track subcontract invoices for approval while addressing any unapproved or rejected items.

- Oversee the setup of new vendors, including managing W-9 documentation.

- Maintain and update financial spreadsheets and reports to support accounting activities.

- Review employee time cards and ensure precise payroll processing.

- Handle employee file maintenance and ensure compliance with record-keeping standards.

- Execute additional administrative and accounting duties as needed to support the department.

- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to enhance workflow efficiency. Requirements - At least two years of experience in payroll or accounts payable roles.

- A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.

- Familiarity with the construction industry is an advantage.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Strong organizational and time management abilities.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

- Experience with eCMS software is a plus.
