Director, Policy Governance (Solventum)

Impact You’ll Make in this Role

The Director, Policy Governance owns the enterprise-wide framework for how corporate policies are created, organized, maintained, communicated, and retired. This role ensures the organization has a single, authoritative, and easily navigable source of truth for its policies — and that those policies are necessary, clear, and enforceable rather than a source of friction or risk. The Director partners with Legal, Compliance, HR, IT, Finance, and business unit leaders to build a governance model that balances risk mitigation with organizational speed and productivity.

Responsibilities
  • Policy Architecture:
    Create and oversee a centralized policy structure and a searchable repository for all corporate policies.
  • Cross-Functional Governance:
    Lead Policy Governance to ensure policies are understandable, effective and necessary and do not create unnecessary barriers to productivity and innovation.
  • Modernization & Maintenance:
    Develop and manage process to update or retire policies to reflect changing business, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Change Management:
    Develop communication strategies to ensure employees at all levels understand policies applicable to them and how to follow them.
  • Risk Mitigation:
    Identify "policy gaps" that could expose the company to legal, financial, or reputational damage and draft proactive solutions.
  • Responsibilities of this position include that corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties.
Your Skills and Expertise
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in Law, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field. An advanced degree (JD, MBA, or Master's degree) preferred.
  • Experience:

    10+ years of progressive experience in a corporate environment in the areas of Corporate Governance, Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, Ethics & Compliance, or a related discipline, including significant experience developing, implementing, or managing corporate policies and governance frameworks.
  • Policy & Governance Expertise:
    Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional policy initiatives, interpret complex regulatory or business requirements, and translate them into practical, employee-friendly guidance.
  • Strategic Partnership:
    Ability to influence and advise senior leaders on policy, governance, compliance, and risk-related matters while balancing business objectives and organizational needs.
  • Communication & Change Management:
    Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience driving policy awareness, adoption, and organizational change.
  • Systems & Process Management:
    Experience with policy management, governance, compliance, or HR systems and tools.
  • Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
    Strong learning agility and ability to adapt in a fast-moving, changing environment;
    Project Management experience and/or exceptional organizational skills;
    Ability to build strong relationships across business units and functions;
    Resilience and comfort with ambiguity;
    Experience in the Healthcare industry or related field.
