Early Childhood Family Education Teacher (ECFE) – Parent Educator
Position OverviewUnder the direction of the Early Childhood Programs Coordinator, the parent educator ECFE teacher is responsible for the development, planning, and implementation of ECFE classes.
Primary Responsibilities- The parent educator will provide Early Childhood and Family Education programs and services for children birth to pre-kindergarten.
- The teacher will support a continuum of programs to foster healthy growth and development of students and families, collaborating within the district and community, including planning and implementing parent/child interaction programming.
- Understanding of ECFE goals, objectives and philosophy.
- Knowledge of trends, curriculum models, resources and methods in the field.
- Work cooperatively with program and administrative staff, program coordinator, and peers in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the program.
- Prepare and implement developmentally appropriate instruction for all classes.
- Attend all scheduled staff meetings, professional development, planning sessions, courses, conferences, etc.
- Develop knowledge about community agencies and services and assist families in finding appropriate resources.
- Assist and support ECFE public relation events, including planning and implementation of special event activities.
- Support colleagues in all phases of the program by conferring on a regular basis.
- Actively encourage and embrace each member of the school community.
- Continually work to understand personal assumptions and biases and how they impact the learning environment.
- Assist and support home visits.
- B.A. or B.S. degree (Background of professional study in Early Childhood Education, Family Life Education or Child Development preferred).
- Teaching License (Parent Educator License Preferred).
