5th Grade Teacher

Responsibilities

• Prepare course objectives and outline for the course of study following curriculum guidelines or state and school requirements. Adapt material to accommodate student ability level and learning style.
• Deliver lectures, demonstrations, and use audiovisual teaching aids as well as other teaching methods to present subject matter to class.
• Prepare, administer, and correct tests, and record results.
• Assign lessons, correct papers, and assess oral presentations.
• Teach rules of conduct and maintain order of students.
• Counsel pupils when adjustment and academic problems arise.
• Discuss pupils' academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements with parents and specialists, if necessary.
• Keep attendance and grade records as required by the school.
• Coordinate class field trips.
• Participate in faculty and professional meetings, open houses, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.

• Licensed by the MN Department of Education as a K‑5 Elementary Teacher.
• Experience working cross‑culturally and/or commitment to improving cultural competence, valuing diversity, recognizing personal limitations, and a desire to learn in these areas.
