Position Overview

Community Education/Adult Basic Education/ESL Teacher

Schedule:

Morning classes from 9:30–12:30, afternoon classes from 1:00–3:30 pm, and evening classes from 6:00–9:00 pm. Substitute teachers required on an “on‑call” basis.

Compensation Range: BA Step 1 $ 46,060 – MA60 $ 60,182

  • Instructs students when the classroom teacher is absent.
  • Maintains attendance records when the teacher is absent.
  • Follows the classroom teacher’s lesson plans and instructions.
  • Communicates with the classroom teacher, as needed.

Qualifications
  • Current MN Teaching License or a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with adult students.
  • Cross‑cultural experience.
  • Strong math teaching skills and Language Arts (GED Prep).
