Step into a vital Special Education teaching role supporting middle and elementary schools for the 2026-27 academic year. These contract positions focus on empowering students with diverse needs, including those in resource, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) center-based, and Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) programs. With a strong emphasis on behavior strategies and instructional excellence, youll collaborate closely with colleagues and paraprofessionals in dynamic, onsite learning environments.
Whatwere looking for:
- Current Minnesota teaching credential with endorsement in one or more of the following:
Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood Special Education, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, General Special Education, or Academic & Behavioral Strategist. - Demonstrated expertise in behavior management and creating effective classroom routines.
- Experience working with cross-categorical student populations, especially those requiring behavioral supports.
- Strong instructional and problem-solving skills, with a proven record of excellent attendance.
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor behavior plans.
- Exceptional collaboration skills with both general and special education teams.
- Comfortable managing and scheduling paraprofessionals for maximum support.
- Providing specialized instruction to students in resource and center-based programs at multiple middle and elementary school sites.
- Filling a temporary FMLA leave role at a middle school.
- Creating safe, structured classrooms that foster both academic and behavioral growth.
- Developing individualized plans and adapting curriculum based on student needs.
- Collaborating in team meetings, supporting paraprofessional staff, and maintaining open communication with families.
