About the Position
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Paraprofessional to support students within a school-based setting. You will work alongside teachers and special education professionals to provide instructional, behavioral, and classroom support while helping students build confidence, independence, and academic success.
Job Duties
- Provide individualized academic and classroom support to students
- Assist students with assignments, classroom activities, and instructional tasks
- Support implementation of individualized education program (IEP) goals under the direction of licensed staff
- Reinforce positive behavioral strategies and classroom expectations
- Assist with transitions, routines, and daily classroom activities
- Support students in developing social, communication, and independent-living skills
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other members of the educational team
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Provide appropriate student support while promoting independence and self-advocacy
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 60 college credit hours or an associate degree or higher, OR a passing score on an approved Minnesota paraprofessional assessment
- Minnesota-approved Para Pro passing score of 455
, where the assessment pathway is used - Demonstrated ability to support students with academic and/or behavioral needs
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school-based professionals
- Strong communication, reliability, patience, and professionalism
- Must meet all applicable school district, Minnesota Department of Education, and federal requirements for paraprofessional personnel
