The Mechanical Repair Technician is responsible for assessing, repairing, testing, and documenting repair material in an FAA regulated environment, participating in high‑level technical work with minimal instruction.
Responsibilities- Utilize limited variety of microelectronic, electronic, optical, electro‑optical, mechanical, or electromechanical equipment, including computers and lasers.
- Follow written procedures and demonstrate proper use of hand tools and measuring devices.
- Follow blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met.
- Perform troubleshooting and testing of repair units using electronic test equipment.
- Utilize SAP and other MRO computer programs.
- Participate on project teams and apply technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance, and use of complex products, devices, tests, or procedures under constantly changing conditions where ingenuity and judgment are required.
- Plan and accomplish goals with extensive experience and judgment.
- Use analytical skills and problem‑solving abilities.
- Work in a team to support work capacity in a fast‑paced environment.
- Conduct written and verbal communication with technicians, engineering, and leadership within the MRO.
- Responsible for moderate level of planning.
- High school diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).
- Electronics background with 2+ years of complementary work history in a manufacturing or service environment.
- Safety‑sensitive position in accordance with FAA guidelines.
- Candidate subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA regulation 14 CFR part 120 and 49 CFR part 40.
- AAS degree in electronics and/or prior military experience strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience with aviation manufacturing or repair preferred.
- Ability to obtain Preliminary MRB authorization.
- Experience reviewing CMM/SB documentation and creating mark‑ups.
First Shift: Monday—Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm.
Salary$46,938 – $88,035 (good faith estimate for all experience levels).
