Position: Electronics Engineering Technician (Onsite)

Job Summary

Engineering Electronics Technician – Burnsville, MN (Onsite). The role supports an Engineering Development Lab, assisting engineers in developing avionics products.

Responsibilities
  • Support engineering activities in an engineering lab for developmental, prototype, or critical test systems and cables.
  • Assemble cables and test equipment from prints and documentation.
  • Update and improve prints and documentation.
  • Perform tasks requiring assembly, support, and resources to complete current assignments.
  • Assemble and wire cable or test fixtures per documents.
  • Maintain electronic build records, data logs, and reports in accordance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Demonstrate effective communication with management, customers, and auditors.
  • Complete tasks and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, within environmental test work centers.
  • Deliver work with attention to cost and schedule constraints.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and the company.
  • Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Debug test fixtures and failed circuits for performance evaluation.
  • Conduct engineering‑requested tests from breadboards, prototypes, and final test hardware.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.
  • Implement EH&S processes and procedures; recognize safety hazards, including hazardous materials.
What You Will Learn
  • Assembly of engineering breadboards and development test fixtures.
  • Support engineering tests; monitor, analyze, reduce, and record data.
  • Perform mathematical calculations or utilize data acquisition tools.
Qualifications Must Have
  • AA/AS degree (or equivalent 2‑year post‑high‑school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to understand schematics and work with limited direction.
  • Prior knowledge of mechanical hardware and electrical circuits.
Prefer
  • Experience in building test systems and hardware.
  • Working knowledge of digital meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and related equipment, and a general understanding of calibrated equipment.
  • Basic mechanical, electrical knowledge, and electronic troubleshooting experience.
  • Enjoyment of a variety of different pop‑up tasks.
  • Flexibility in a dynamic environment where priorities can change.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and basic database knowledge.
  • Strong skills to support technical communications with engineers and external vendors.
  • Self‑starter, ambitious, conscientious, with high attention to detail, capable of working in a fast‑paced development environment.
  • Flexibility working in both process‑controlled environments and development prototype environments.

Pay

Salary range: $53,100 – $100,900 USD.
