Senior Technician (T3) – Sensors Test Engineering
Burnsville, Minnesota – Onsite
• 1st Shift
•
Schedule:

• Contract $42.48/hr
Position Summary
Support design engineering and production operations as part of the Sensors Test Engineering team. Lead the building and assembly of test solutions supporting commercial and defense sensor products. Support test solutions throughout various stages of their lifecycle. Troubleshoot and resolve test equipment issues. 1‑year contract role with intent to extend to a full‑time position based on performance and business needs.
- Build and assemble test hardware, including cables, valve boxes, control boxes, interface boxes, and other test solutions according to engineering drawings.
- Troubleshoot electrical equipment and device issues on the production line.
- Utilize hand, air, pneumatic, and electric tools to build and support test equipment.
- Create and review test system designs and documentation with engineering teams.
- Update drawings, schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), classifications, and provide build notes for future builds.
- Troubleshoot issues reported by operations and perform repairs to cables, boxes, racks, and other test solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers, operators, and technicians in a team environment.
- Work with electrical, mechanical (pressure), and video test equipment.
- Integrate custom‑built and commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) equipment into test systems.
- AA/AS degree (or other 2‑year post‑high school training).
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Experience building complex cable assemblies, test boxes, and test systems for the aviation industry.
- Experience with military specifications and AS9100 environments.
- Experience with MIL‑spec and Hypertronics connectors.
- Proficient with tools, testing equipment, soldering, and crimping equipment (hand, electric, and pneumatic).
- Ability to review and edit engineering schematics and wire lists.
- Knowledge of Minnesota State Electrical Codes and statutes sufficient to pass inspection.
- Familiarity with high‑voltage and high‑pressure equipment.
- Strong communication and mentorship skills.
- Strong understanding of electronics, electrical design, and safety.
- Familiarity with CAD modeling software, preferably Solid Works or Creo.
- Hands‑on approach with curiosity about system interactions and functionality.
- Familiarity with avionics buses including: MIL‑STD‑1553, ARINC, CAN, RS485, RS232, IEEE 1394.
- Familiarity with ALM JIRA project management (Agile).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects and adapt to changing business needs.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Visio.
